Seroscreening in the agri-food industry

The agri-food industry is particularly vulnerable to contagion from Covid19 cases. The refrigerated environment not only conserves food, it also conserves the virus. In many cases, refrigeration is also related to poor air circulation, which hinders the removal of any virus particles in suspension. The WHO advises cleaning processing and packaging surfaces to eliminate or reduce the risk of contamination. Good hygiene is also essential: hand washing, mask wearing and social distancing.

The risk exists for both employees and the products they make, which must remain virus free so as to not infect the general population. Using seroscreening with employees helps separate infected persons and possible carriers from the production line and thus ensures clean production.
